Pastors today continue to bear responsibility, not only for the eternal welfare of their flocks, but also for their temporal welfare by leading resistance to arbitrary governance (Tyranny) and promoting God’s gift of Liberty. (Is. 10:1-2, Prov. 25:26, 2 Tim. 3:16)
America’s Black Robe Regiment is a resource and a network of pastors and religious leaders who strive to safeguard liberty by networking and educating themselves as to our biblical responsibility to stand up for our Lord and Savior and to protect the freedoms and liberties granted to a moral people in the divinely inspired US Constitution. We believe that today’s leaders must step into their God-given duty of leading not just from the pulpit, but in communities and government as well. This echoes the actions of America’s first pastors, whose strong beliefs led and won the revolution.
Tyranny must be abolished. As a local leader, people are counting on you and we believe it is your duty to hold government leaders accountable.
Jesus called on his people to be the “salt and the light of the earth” a directive that should be followed with urgency and diligence.
Our mission is to help ensure that all Americans continue to enjoy the God-given liberties set forth in the Declaration of Independence, United States Constitution, and Bill of Rights, by equipping every pastor with training and resources as to our biblical responsibility to stand up for our Lord and Savior and to protect the freedoms and liberties granted to a moral people.
“Black Robe Regiment” is an historical reference to the colonial clergy who were instrumental in founding the nation through their sermons in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. The phrase was a derisive British reference to the black robes worn by the American clergy.
From the time that English settlers began arriving on our shores, the clergy have played a decisive role in securing and sustaining civil and religious liberty in America.
